Two pictures from Nancy Guri Duncan, J'68
No 1: Here I am setting up an exhibition in Paris of my French photographer husband François Le Diascorn's photo project on the Greek islands. I am posing next to a photograph in which I figure, I am one of the women in black dipping feet into the Aegean sea (I am the furthest away in the photo). This shows me in a dual capacity--both as occasional subject of my husband's photography, and also closely working with him on selections/ exhibitions etc. We have a book that is now available in the United States (at selected sites or to be ordered via Amazon etc.), it's a book of photographs of the United States taken over a period of some 40 years, with a text by me. All the texts are in both French and English. I also figure in three of the photographs in the book! It's called ONLY IN AMERICA by Crèaphis Editions, second edition 2011 ISBN 978-2-35428-042-0No. 2: Here I am are in our photo agency (Gamma-Rapho, Paris) going through Kodachrome slides with my husband photographer François Le Diascorn. Kodachrome no longer exists and he, like everyone else, has had to go to digital for his color photography, although he continues to use traditional film and cameras for black and white. The other work I do is writing fiction, poetry, occasional articles, and my autobiography (through photographs by Le Diascorn) and translations from French into English, none of that very "photographable!"
